Hello everyone! For those of you who know me, thanks for stopping by! For those who do not, my name is Susan Whitney Rider. I live in Overland Park, Kansas, with my husband, daughter and mother. A city girl at heart (I need my lattes and takeout), I grew up in the small town of Adrian, MO. I went to college and never looked back. As with most things in life, I never expected this opportunity to present itself.
I am excited to say I am starting a Christmas tree farm on our family farm just outside of Adrian with the help of my brother Ben! We are looking forward to growing something new in this community. Okay, for those of you that know me, may the laughter commence :-). As I mentioned, I am a city girl through and through. Outside is for looking at through a window. Outside is to get from one place to another. Outside makes me sneeze.
Enough about me though. Our Christmas tree farm is a seedling at this time. It will take six to seven years before we will be ready to cut down and share the first tree with the public. Until then, this space will be used to share our experience along the way! We hope you will stop by each month to see what we are up to, and where we are in the process. We will also be doing some spotlights on other businesses we want to support and highlight experiences around the "Christmas Tree" theme.
